Thank you for your recent car donation to Melwood. Since January 1, 2005 the IRS requires the charity to obtain the SSN or Federal Tax ID from the donor if the gross sale amount exceeds $500. According to our records, your vehicle sold for more than $500 and we do not have your SSN or Federal Tax ID on file. If you wish to claim this amount on your taxes, please provide your SSN or Federal Tax ID. Upon receipt of this information, this office will provide the IRS Form 1098C indicating the gross sale price of your vehicle.
