Each month Melwood recognizes outstanding employees for their exemplary work and dedication to the organization. The following Melwood employees were selected as our August Employees of the Month:
Direct Support Employee: Rhonda McQuain, Program Reimbursement Coordinator, Community Services
Rhonda McQuain has been in her new position for a year now. She has handled every task without much supervision. Rhonda will stay late to ensure all work is completed. If we are short staffed, Rhonda will multitask and assist her team. She always smiles and has very positive attitude.
Custodial Employee: Dawn Thompson, Custodial Worker, Carver Center
Dawn Thompson is a professional with a cooperative and can do attitude. With a supervisor out for most of July, Dawn stepped up to close the gap as far as service delivery goes. Dawn gives the personal touch every day, she stops by the office and inquires as to how she can assist in addition to her day to day duties. Dawn’s efforts and attitude is also noticed by the customer.
Grounds Maintenance Employee: Megan Quinlin, Service Order Dispatcher, Fort Meade
Megan Quinlin has been working for us for almost 2 years. Over Megan’s time with Melwood she has proven that she has the ability to overcome all challenges as a customer service representative. Megan is dependable and works with the team on all scheduling. When Work Control staff have shortfalls, she is willing to support. Megan is eager to learn new processes and is always the first to ask if anyone needs help.
Other Facilities Operations Employee: William “Bill Foster, Material Handler/Driver, Naval Academy
Bill has been working with Melwood for nearly eight years. Bill takes the initiative to train newly hired employees, ensuring they are aware of all work procedures to prevent accidents. Weather and working conditions are not always ideal in the recycling department, but Bill displays an incredible willingness to motivate the recycling team just when they need it. Bill has been working in the recycling field for many years and is very patient with others when offering constructive criticism. He is very personable and we are very fortunate to have him in the recycling department.
Shared Services Employee: Manetta Bishop-Williams, Contract Manager, DHR
Manetta Williams, is a team player and routinely strives for excellence. She has one of the most difficult workloads in the department. Yet, she also reaches out to assist in areas beyond her immediate responsibility, so that the department as a whole succeeds. She represents Melwood well as the contracts liaison to some of our most demanding Contracting Officers. Manetta is a shining star of the Contracts and Procurement department.
