Recreation Profiles

The Melwood Recreation Center has made an impression on the lives of hundreds of campers, their families, and program volunteers. Hear first hand their stories about how the Melwood Recreation programs have made a difference in their lives.

Emily

Emily first became a member of the Melwood family through the equestrian program.

Kate

Kate's mom, Lynne, was interested in enrolling her daughter in a camp that also provided an equestrian program. She began researching camps in the area and came across Camp Accomplish.

Ashley

Ashley is a dedicated member of Melwood's community based and therapeutic programs. She is especially excited about her achievements through the Equestrian program.

Jake is a proud camper, rider and volunteer at Melwood's Recreation Center.

Matthew and John's mother located information on Camp Accomplish while searching inclusive camp programs online.

Connor P.

Connor's parents were given a packet of materials when their son was first diagnosed with Autism. Included in that packet was information on Camp Accomplish - but they didn't sign him up until a friend recommended it.

Jasmine Powell joined Melwood's Equestrian Program after undergoing major surgery on her back that left her unable to sit up without assistance.
