Earth Day at Fort George G. Meade

Earth Day 2016 was an exciting and engaging time at the Fort George G. Meade Army Base. For the past five years Melwood’s Roads and Grounds Department has participated in Fort Meade’s Earth Day celebration. Our interactive booths are a favorite among the attendees each year.

This year Ms. Myra Brosius, a certified arborist, set up an educational painting activity for the children from the Fort Meade community. Each child took home a smaller version of the completed final product along with coloring books and tree identification forms from the International Society of Arboriculture. A larger version of the art project is now displayed in the Melwood – FGGM Roads and Grounds Department conference room.

The Melwood – FGGM Roads and Grounds Department looks forward each year to participating in this great event.  It’s a great opportunity for our team to engage the FGGM community.
