Employee of the Month

Each month Melwood recognizes outstanding employees for their exemplary work and dedication to the organization. The following Melwood employees were selected as our August Employees of the Month:

Direct Support Employee:  Serena Norman, CSS Case Manager, Community Services

Serena serves as a CSS Case Manager for the Community Support Services program. Since joining the team, she has shown great care of ensuring that all the community support assistants and the individuals served are provided quality services. She has shown exemplary professionalism and tact in managing the community support assistants under her supervision. She has also been instrumental in resolving staffing issues that arise and is a strong advocate for the individuals and their families. Many of the individuals and their families express their thanks and gratitude for her service to them, especially for making herself available on short notice to attend to their needs and concerns.

Custodial Employee:  Geoffrey Hunter, Custodial Worker, US Secret Service

Geoffrey has played an important role in Melwood. Over the years, he’s worked on different projects and has catered to clients with different kinds of needs.  He has great experience in his field. He is appreciated for his expertise and professionalism. He is a sincere, hardworking and a dedicated employee. He is very friendly and co-operative to his colleagues. He possesses a broad knowledge about different cleaning ways. He is a leader and always takes initiative for solving problems. We have received great appreciation for his work by our tenants.

Grounds Maintenance Employee:  Russell (Tim) Vales, Seasonal Landscape Worker, Aberdeen Proving Ground

Tim has been with this contract since the start, March 31, 2015. Tim is a team player who never complains about anything, and is always smiling with a great attitude. Tim always wants to help however he can and learn different methods of grounds work. Tim gets the tasks done on schedule and has been a great asset to our new contract.

 Other Facilities Operations Employee:  Delores Wynne, General Clerk, Goddard

Delores is an excellent example of an employee who exemplifies the term Team Player. Delores has an excellent relationship with our customer and goes well beyond the call of duty to ensure that whatever is asked of her, is delivered with excellence.Delores also has a great attendance record, which makes her not only reliable, but an asset to the Goddard Team.
