Melwood offers a number of career opportunities to people of differing abilities. Find your new career here.
Dear Melwood Friends & Family,
We at Melwood believe in equal pay, hiring for ability and a world where everyone is included. Melwood’s commitment to diversity and equal access ensures that the people we serve have the opportunity to engage in meaningful work and earn good wages. In 2016, Melwood served more than 2,000 individuals with differing abilities.
Twelve years ago, Melwood helped Sarah get a job. Hired as a Guest Greeter at Lowe’s, Sarah was finally able to experience the joy of being a part of the American workforce. Her gentile smile and generous heart was described as infectious, as she interacted with countless customers each day. Not long after Sarah came to Lowe’s, her team realized one of her many talents: Sarah is a brilliant anime artist. Her art has been, and still is, featured in a number of art shows.
Today, Sarah is a Customer Service Representative in Lowe’s paint department. She is a star employee and has been recognized for raising the bar on customer service. Being given the opportunity to combine her strong work ethic and passion for art, Sarah is now doing what many strive to do; she is living a life of her choosing.
Melwood works to ensure that individuals like Sarah have the opportunity to live, work and play in their own communities. It is your financial support that helps individuals like Sarah move into real jobs that pay real wages. Your gift can help provide vocational support services to help Sarah and others like her to sustain their valuable services in the community.
Won’t you consider making a gift to support Melwood’s compassionate and inclusive mission today?
When you give to Melwood, you are opening the door to a world of employment, empowerment and improved self-esteem for an individual with differing abilities.
When you give to Melwood, you create an experience of a lifetime for a child attending Camp Accomplish; allowing a young person to join a community that demonstrates what it means to be fully included.
When you give to Melwood, you are supporting a veteran or active-duty service member who is struggling with PTS(d) and wishes to attend Melwood’s Operation: Tohidu program; you are helping an individual who has served our country regain his or her life and move forward with new hope.
Help us as we continue to broaden our footprint as a regional resource for individuals with differing abilities, employers seeking to expand diversity, and families looking for a fully inclusive summer camp program. Make your gift today.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and those we serve, I thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Cari DeSantis
