Exciting things are happening at Melwood. Read about some of this summer’s new opportunities.
Increasing Job Opportunities – In August, the Department of Justice awarded Melwood a Custodial Services-Base Contract, which will ultimately lead to additional job opportunities for people with differing abilities. Click here to learn more about our business services.
Community Employment – Community Services will partner with the Maryland Department of Rehabilitation Services to offer job trials. Assessments will be based on career and person-centered, and observations.
Community Outreach – Elizabeth Foster, Director of Workforce Development and Guidance Program at Melwood, was selected to serve as a Board Member on the Calvert County Commission on Aging.
Recognition – Melwood received a train-the-trainer certificate of completion for Health Matters and participated in the Southern Maryland Center for Independent Living presentation, focusing on veterans and our Operation Tohidu® retreat program.
