On May 2nd Melwood’s Community Services and Legal Team hosted there first Law Day in partnership with the Elder Law and Disability Rights Section of the MSBA. During this free event, people with differing abilities had the opportunity to receive free legal advice, complete a “five wishes” form and prepare an Advance Directive.
Attendees were able to name their health care agent, determine the agent’s decision-making power, and discuss any concerns regarding life-sustaining health procedures. Attendees were happy to receive this important legal advice at no charge. We look forward to hosting the event again next year.
