Macys Shop for a Cause Event

From August 26^th – 28t^h Macy’s will host their annual Shop For a Cause event.  This unique three-day event is held in support of nonprofit organizations, school booster groups and religious organizations around the country.  Their goal is raise funds and build awareness for the participating organizations. Since Macy’s began this program in 2006, they have raised millions of dollars for a number of deserving charities.

In the coming months, participating charitable organizations will sell ‘savings passes’ for $5 each at their individual locations. The savings pass discount is for 25% off throughout the store on an assortment of regular, sale and clearance merchandise, and 10% off on electric/electronics, watches, furniture, mattresses and rugs/floor coverings. Customers can then use the savings pass in any Macy’s store location all weekend from Friday, August 26^th to Sunday, August 28^th for great deals and savings.

This year Melwood will participate in the Shop for a Cause program.  We will sell our shopping passes onsite at Melwood’s Dower House Campus in Upper Marlboro, MD. If you are interested in donating $5 to receive a savings pass, please contact LaShunda Kemper at 301.599.4523 or lkemper@melwood.org.
