Kenneth Thomas Spencer is a Grounds Worker on Melwood’s landscaping contract with the United States Department of Agriculture. Kenneth began his career as a cashier at Giant. In 2002, he decided that he was interested in something new so he took a position at the USDA. Landscaping soon became second nature to him. After four years at USDA, Kenneth was promoted to a full-time grounds position at the Kennedy Center. A few years after he received the promotion, Kenneth was forced to take a break from his employment, due to health reasons.
Once Kenneth was able to return to work, he once again applied for a Grounds Worker position at USDA. He was determined to work for Melwood again because he missed the positive work environment. His persistence paid off in 2015 and he got the job! Kenneth’s devotion to his work was apparent to all. His project managers describe him as “reliable and a dedicated worker with a strong work ethic.”
We thank Kenneth for all of his hard work and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
