On Friday, May 20th Melwood employees and members of the community joined our External Affairs team and members of the Lions Club, District 22-C, for a membership drive for the new Melwood Environmental Lions Club. Our goal was to raise awareness about our new community group and, ultimately, to recruit new members.
We hosted three events throughout the day providing complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner to all participants. The local business community lent their support with generous donations from Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, Ledo’s Pizza, Meadows and Chick-Fil-A. Fresh-FM sent their morning host Jen Richer and the FreshFM Street Team out to host the lunch portion of the event. Our hosts did a great job entertaining the crowd with music, games and a live broadcast from our campus. It was the perfect opportunity to learn more about the Lions Club and our new charter’s focus on improving the environment. We generated a total of 33 new members for the Melwood Environmental Lions Club! We look forward to working on a number of environmental initiatives with our new team.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Melwood Environmental Lions Club, there’s still time to join! Please feel free to contact Terrence Collins at TCollins@Melwood.org for more information.
