In honor of Direct Support Professionals Week, Melwood hosted the first ever Spirit Week to encourage employees to show off their Melwood pride! The week was geared towards boosting employee moral, encouraging excitement and enhancing productivity. With daily themed fun, activities and events, our campuses were filled with endless laughter and participation.
We started off the week by encouraging employees to dress up based on a ‘theme of the day’; including Melwood Colors Day, Favorite Sports Team Day, 1960s Day, and more! As a special incentive, all employees who participated were entered into a drawing for a PAID DAY OFF work. The winners for the week were Samantha Newman from Nike, Ester Wright from Nike, Jim Marcotte from Dower House, Chaundra Tillery from BOTE/PEP Building and Susie Jemerson from Nike.
As the celebration continued, themed fun quickly turned into special delights for the entire Melwood community. Our employees received free sweet treats; our Direct Support Professionals savored delicious meals and the entire Melwood community enjoyed our 8th annual Afternoon Tea. It was wonderful seeing the smiles and camaraderie that grew over the course of the week.
