January 17th marked the beginning of cycle nine of Operation: Tohidu. A group of 22 veterans joined us as we battled the winter elements to have another successful retreat week.

Melwood’s Board Chair, George Watkins, and his daughter Clara, demonstrated their commitment to the many veterans we serve by donating $20,000 to Operation: Tohidu. Mr. Watkins has been a longtime advocate of veterans and was one of the original planners of Operation: Tohidu. His generous donations and involvement have been crucial to the success of the program. His most recent donation will directly support veterans attending the retreat, empowering them and providing them with a new opportunity to achieve their fullest possible recovery from deployment-related trauma.

Operation: Tohidu continues to be an inspirational experience for all who are involved. Lifelong friendships are forged, new discoveries are made, and lives are changed. We look forward to the growth of this program and a range of new veteran-related initiatives that are on the horizon.
