Melwood’s Retreat and Recreation Center held the 10th cycle of our Operation: Tohidu last month. This cycle we welcomed 30 veterans and active duty service members who came together for a weeklong program loaded with a variety of educational and experiential activities that helped them develop news ways to manage post-traumatic stress. Participants spent the mornings engaging in educational sessions, afternoons participating in experiential learning exercises, and the evenings in group sessions. It is a privilege to witness not only the growth in our participants who come to Operation: Tohidu, but also the growth of the program itself.
Operation: Tohidu has gained a great amount of public notice since we launched the program a little more than a year ago. Through a variety of radio talk program appearances, news articles, and book mentions, our staff has helped build awareness about the many challenges our nation’s warfighters face each day. Dr. Bart Billings profiled our program in his new book Invisible Scars citing Operation: Tohidu as an “outstanding integrative treatment program.” Operation: Tohidu was also included in The PTSD Sourcebook written by Dr. Glenn Schiraldi. In his book, Dr. Schiraldi explores the latest PTSD treatment innovations. We sincerely thank Dr. Billings and Dr. Schiraldi for including Operation: Tohidu in their publications and lending further credibility to our program.
We look forward to the growing success of Operation: Tohidu.
