It gives us great pleasure to announce the appointment of Rebecca Cheraquit, LMSW as Melwood’s new Vice President of Community Services effective immediately. In her new role, Rebecca will be responsible not only for managing Melwood’s current program operations, but also leading the development of new and innovative programs to better serve transitioning youth and better meet the goal of full community integration.
Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in program development and operations to her new post. Since 2014, she has served as Melwood’s Director of Vocational Support Services. By placing great emphasis on process and professional development, she has turned Melwood’s vocational support services program into an industry-leading operation. Melwood stakeholders, partner agencies, government customers and SourceAmerica have praised her work, and that of her team.
Prior to joining Melwood, she successfully managed four alternative education programs in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education that were later replicated because of her successful outcomes. In these roles, she also demonstrated her ability to lead grassroots advocacy efforts to affect public policy.
