On March 23rd Melwood’s External Affairs Team participated in the Veterans Resource Expo and Access to Capital Event in Springfield, VA. Also, on hand was Operation: Tohidu Alumni Ryan Daniels. Approximately 30 vendors attended the expo including AMVETS, George Mason University, Soldier for Life, U.S. Secret Service, and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
The purpose of the expo was to provide attendees with a variety of resources and encourage personal and professional success for veterans and their families. Veterans and their families attended the event eager to learn more about the various programs and services that are available to them in the region. Our team spoke with many of the attendees, providing details about Melwood and Operation: Tohidu. A number of veterans expressed interest in attending an upcoming retreat.
The Veteran Resource Group is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to readily providing resources for veterans and their families through a number of expo events. All Veteran resource expo events are free of charge for veterans, service members, family members and caregivers. They seek to bring as many local businesses and organizations together for the greater good of our war heroes.
