Volunteering at Melwood

During this holiday season we would like to shine a spotlight on someone who gives the gift of his time to our programs.  Melwood volunteer, Theodore “TW" Boyd, has been a part of our volunteer program for three years. After retiring, TW searched for a purposeful activity to fill his spare time. He heard one of Melwood’s radio commercials and decided to look into the organization.  He arrived at Melwood’s Dower House campus, during one of our events for the participants in our day program and knew right away that he wanted to somehow contribute to our mission. 

Three years later, TW is a key member of our volunteer team.  Our program participants love his weekly dance parties and so does he! TW describes his volunteer experience at Melwood as uplifting and one of his greatest inspirations and he now considers the individuals that he works with a part of his family.

Volunteers like TW make everything possible and lift the spirits of our persons served.  We truly appreciate everything that he has done and continues to do to support of mission.
