Lois DiNatale has held several leadership positions at the Department of Defense throughout her 33 years of civil service. Most recently, she has served as the Chair for the Joint Ordnance Commanders Environmental Subgroup, Program Manager for the Navy Range Sustainability Program, and Director of Strategic Planning at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head EOD Technology Division.
DiNatale has written extensively on the issue of moral injury with a focus on how community and military leaders can create policies, programs, and treatments to help wounded warriors and reduce the risk of suicidal behaviors within the military community. She has also been an avid supporter of Operation Tohidu® and its philosophy of utilizing a holistic approach to healing service-related trauma.
DiNatale is a lifelong resident of Charles County and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland College Park and Master’s degree in environmental management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. from The George Washington University. DiNatale has also served on the College of Southern Maryland Board of Trustees for more than a decade. Today, she lives with her husband, Joe, in La Plata and has four children and two grandchildren.
