Mark Hegarty serves as Melwood’s Vice President of Business Development and is responsible for identifying and pursuing government and commercial business opportunities. Mark grew up outside Philadelphia and attended Bloomsburg University, graduating with a degree in Management. Mark then served as a commissioned officer in the Air Force holding posts as a Cost & Management Analysis Officer and B-52 pilot with flying assignments at Fairchild and Castle Air Force Bases along the west coast of the US. He later served in the Pentagon and at the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) in Virginia. Following retirement from the Air Force he focused on leading highly-effective business development teams for premier government relations firms, systems integrators, and non-profits. His experience in developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns led to winning proposals for hundreds of millions of dollars in competitive environments. Additionally, Mark holds an MBA from Gonzaga and a Masters Certificates for Federal & Commercial Contracts from Villanova.
